How was that relevant to the conversation?

I even bought me a cowboy hat lol. However I did not see much of Black people. Dallas does not have much of Black people or..?

The recent demographic forecasting predicts Caucasian and Black combined will only amount to 25% of the population in another 10 years for the North Central Texas region. The only cowboys you see are usually other tourists.

We were talking about who we were planning on voting for. He mentioned before that his mother just got citizenship so it seemed a valid question to ask since illegal immigrants aren't supposed to vote.

I'm from Philly by the way. I heard (and used in jest) more derogatory terms than I've ever heard here in the South.

I've had several people tell me that I can be..."abrupt", and some people take it really badly. It's never intentional, like to get a rise out of anybody or **** someone off.

That's because Texas isn't really the South. Head east and you'll start running into out right racism.

I have extended family that lives in NOLA and is EXTREMELY racist. Dropping the N word in casual public conversation, wouldn't let me stay the night in my hotel because it was in a black neighborhood, etc. Texas and Dallas are nowhere on that level.

That's so funny you mentioned that because I was thinking it the same thing (I lived in NOLA for 2.5 years) and the level of racism from blacks and whites was on a whole other level. I felt like Philly people joked about racism, but it was real in New Orleans. I was living there when Obama was elected. The things I heard after his election had me taken back.
