Hello everyone,

We are planning a move to the DFW area this summer and would like some advice on the best place to settle down.

My job will transfer me to zip code 76012 and 75390. I have the option of working from home most days.
I would love to be able to take public transportation instead of driving into the office though.

Spouse will open his office not too far from where we decide to settle down.

We have two small children ages 5 and 3. We need great schools.

Our budget right now is 350k -400k.
*A decent size back yard where our children can play-- preferably in an area that does not harbor snakes.

*Close to shopping and amenities and things to do with the kids. I plan on enrolling my daughter in dance and my son in gymnastics...for now.

*Family-Friendly neighborhood.

Thanks in advance

76012 is north Arlington, and 75390 is UTSW medical center.

Arlington has no public transportation, so on the days you go there, you will have to drive.

The Max bus in Arlington is VERY limited service times and routes to sports venues and UTA. It isn't going to be very helpful for commuters.

Hmm...if you want somewhere in the middle, Grapevine would be a good choice.

I agree, and even more so since they want great schools. Arlington would not meet that criteria. The OP could take the train to UTSW and the Arlington office would be an easy drive.
