Hi,

Helping my son with a little area research. He's looking for a studio or efficiency apartment within his budget - $700 or less in a neighborhood that's safe. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
J

Where is he working or going to school? It's going to be very hard to find a nice safe apartment in a good area under $700 without a roommate to share costs, of course roommates can add more problems, and end up costing you. You really need about a $800-1000 to find anything decent. I think the Village has some units starting in the $700's but I doubt less than that, the village isn't fancy, but safe. However, those may not work depending on where he works.

I wouldn't call myself an expert on the topic, but inclined to agree with Ronnie. From what I have seen, that pricepoint without a roommate will be tough (in a safe neighborhood).

Ronnie also makes a very valid point - where is he working/going to school? Traffic can be a total bear in Dallas and cost savings in some areas can be easily eaten up by expense of gas and/or tolls.
