Hi,
I am looking to buy a townhome, fro $100 K to 130K I work on Legacy drive in Plano. In this area houses are expensive, where would I look at, which areas not to far from work are affordable safe and still cost effective?

thank you

Just be aware townhouses don't have a good appreciation rate as SFH do in the Dallas area. No problem if you are looking to stay a while, problem if you may move in 5 yrs.

I have a friend who lives in 75254 and she feels safe there. The specific area is Preston Oaks between Montfort and Preston Rd. It is a Dallas zip code but in the Addison area. Zip code 75252 is also safe but there is only one townhouse in your price range, a couple just above your price range close to Preston and Frankford.

My son lived in Carrollton for several years--in apartment complex that was older--
Had his car stolen...

I would check crime maps before saying "Carrollton" is safe--
And yes--I understand that having a car stolen is a "safer" crime than assault...
But Carrollton has edgy areas---some parts are definitely safer than others

Townhomes can have foundation damage. We have been trying to help our son find one in that range and it is frustrating.

Avoid anything on Kelly Blvd in Carrollton.
