I am creating this thread because of how people seem asleep to what is going on concerning shopping in central Dallas. For example, the amount of luxury retail space in downtown Dallas is fast approaching a whopping 200,000 square feet. This retail is centered around the Joule hotel, the historic Neiman Marcus department store, and a nearly complete 45,000 square foot Forty Five Ten.

Marvel that this all has taken place outside of both the Crescent and Harwood Internatiinal Districts of Uptown and the ever improving scale of Knox Henderson!

Nice! But by upscale you don't just mean Nine West or stuff you'd find at TJ Maxx right? Are we talking Bloomingdales, The Kooples, Kitson, Burberry, etc.? What are we taking about here? Typical luxury brand like Prada, Gucci, Fendi? Or more avant garde boutique stuff?

Are you saying Dallas has a Robertson Blvd?

Nice list but I think the style in Dallas which more chic than Houston is still traditional luxury. Would he city even consider clothes by designer Raf Simons? I picture Houston rocking that before Dallas.

If you look at the charity circuit pictures in PaperCity and Modern Luxury Dallas, you'll find dozens of women wearing Raf Simons for Dior over the past few years.

Dallas has more personal style than you think. Look up pictures of Dallasites like Cindy Rachofsky, Nasiba Adilova, and Jessica Nowitzki who are known for being high fashion risk-takers. Plus, Dallas is the birthplace of longtime Barneys fashion director Julie Gilhart and international street-style star Taylor Tomasi Hill (who just moved back to Dallas as Women's VP of Forty-Five Ten). Nick Wooster was just hired by Forty-Five Ten to head up Menswear....there is no bigger individual style icon than Nick.

Impressed! Dallas bring some of that down to Houston! Although my brother told me they were setting up a crazy good looking fashion show at the MFA Houston. He said they spend a pretty penny on the show so maybe some of Dallas is trickling down?

Dallas blows Houston out of the water then judging by the stuff you cited. The style there is more adventurous. Houston is still black, tan and white. Or just all urban.
