To steer this thread back to the OP's question, what are good alternatives to the DMN for local news? Any good, non TV Channel websites out there?

I haven't found a lot, but I recently bookmarked KERA and Texas Monthly. My DMN paywall is live now and I can't access it unless I pay them an extra $1/week on top of what I already pay for a printed edition on Sundays. The total amount comes to more than I pay for my NYT digital subscription and I consider the NYT be a far superior newspaper for national, international, and lifestyle reporting. So I cancelled my whole DMN subscription. I'm not willing to pay for the plethora of huge pop-up ads on their digital site and am annoyed that they expect me to.

I believe this gentleman meant "culture of Marxism." Sometimes half of the headline articles are about the butt area, black versus white, male versus female, and about anything that will anger the majotity of the North Texas population.

This forum is Marxist. It is difficult to find any media today that isn't.

Frankly is easy to find leftists in the US media it's almost impossible to find real Marxists. Are you sure you know what the term means?

Lenin, Trotsky, Chaiman Mao, Ho Chi Minh = communists.

People in the press like Katrina vanden Heuvel are leftists, she's probably a socialist, she is not a communist.

Marx hated socialists and generally didn't socialize or communicate with socialists. He felt they were not committed enough to be communists and took an easy way out.

This forum is not Marxist. Take a nap and report back with some reasonable dialog.

Yes. I was a Marxist at age 13.
Look up Yuri Bezmenov on youtube and listen to him. The Dallas Morning News is Marxist. It makes perfect sense that it is so. Texas is ground zero for everything anti-Marxist. Dallas is the most anti-Marxist city in Texas.

In my opinion, the Dallas Morning News is worse than Marxist. Many of their reporters can't write.

Good question. DMN hasn't been free for years. I'm surprised this is new info for some folks.

It's been free for a long time. They tried a paywall previously and their traffic went off a cliff. I don't see why they think its going to work any better this time.

No. The digital version has been free for a long time. It's sort of voluntary to pay.
