Yes, the incoming high school students will be identified if they are eligible for AP and/or IB classes.

The state now has 4 high school graduation tracks one can follow. It is very important to look at these and not let a student take the "easy way" out for graduation. That would leave them with not having the required courses to apply for a 4 year university.

When a student is in the 8th grade they will get a course selection form to select AP English I or Regular English I, in some cases, IB English I. A student can not select an AP, IB or Honors class if they do not meet the criteria. The parents must sign off on this form as well.
