We would love to stay around $400k.
Depending on the time of day, 90 minutes isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Your saving grace is that it is a reverse commute, but that might not matter.

My brother lives in Preston Hollow and makes it to Plano during off-peak hours to hang with family all the time.

It is surprisingly awful. I try to avoid it at all costs, personally.

It's because of the job importation to Plano.

Lived in The Village and then Ridgewood Park. Village is NW Hwy and Shadybrook. Ridgewood Park is near Fisher and Trammell.

There are lots of ways to beat traffic. I used to take Southwestern to the tollway, turn right and follow the service road up and get on. Then Just go north. 45 minutes from The Village to Tollway and 121 leaving at 7AM

You might want to add Mata Montessori, another elementary in the Long/Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern.
The most recent scores show it finished just behind Stonewall and Lakewood.

If you can afford Highland Park then by all means stay near family, otherwise Plano makes more sense with excellent schools, no commute to work and relatively affordable housing. It's not that far from Park Cities and if you live near DNT then family is only 30 minutes away non rush hours, evenings and weekends.
