Can someone help me understand the differences in the SAT scores published by K12niche versus the what is published here periodically?

Dallas, Texas Area School Information: 2014-2015 SAT Scores for Dallas Ft. Worth area Schools

While the order of ranking is the same for both, the actual scores are different, and so it’s hard to compare to what private schools do. For example, both have the top 4 as HP, Carroll, Coppell, and Plano W, but the scores are much higher on K12 (e.g., HP is 1960 on K12 but 1790 on the blogspot; and it’s 1940 v 1740 for Carroll.)

Really what I’m trying to do is see how a private like Bishop Lynch (1780 on K12) compares to area public schools in this metric. So if you use BL’s 1780, they look pretty far behind those public schools on K12, but look right in line with them on blog spot.

I know there are many other factors in evaluating schools, but this is part of that, and so I’m trying to get apples compared to apples.

Thanks!

BL operates under Diocese rules and so do JPII, Dunne and Forth Worth Nolan. Ursuline, Jesuit, and Cistercian for sure and Highlands (I think) operate under the rules of their respective orders. It's complicated because the order schools are all under their local diocese but have much more strict admissions and other rules/standards.

You can call BL and they will send you an email with recent test scores and whatnot.

Some of the websites go by reported scores from students........you can see why that is suspect at best.

BL's average numbers are not 1780 and under no circumstances is SLC's SAT average 1940 nor is HP's 1960.

The blogspot numbers are taken from the TAPR reports put out by the state of Texas. I have no idea where k12niche gets their numbers.

Carroll's SAT average is somewhere close to 1740 (I can't easily pull up the report right now). As EDS notes, it's nowhere near 1900+
