Lol.. it's a glorified Nissan. Still, people shouldn't be taken advantage of no matter what car they're buying.

And I agree with that. It's just how pretentious it sounded calling Infiniti owners the little guys lol. I'm a true little guy, I own a Nissan lol

Of course, the car is terrible. The point is the second-hand buyer had no good reason to think it was covered by a warranty.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about, the op said the car he bought was a 2012 Infiniti with 30 something thousand miles on it. Infiniti's drivetrain warranty 6-year/70k miles, why would the second buyer have no good reason to think he still had a warranty that's fully transferable to him on a car he just paid God knows what for?

It's the exact opposite. The car was within the milage/age range to be covered by the manufacturer's published warranty. Buyer had no reason to not think it was covered. If the car had known issues the dealer had the obligation to disclose them. The warranty was voided by the manufacture and documented therefore it was a known issue. There is no legitimate excuse for the dealer to claim they had know knowledge the warranty was voided.

I'd imagine that most reputable dealers will check the Carfax and warranty status. I'd really like to know how the warranty status was advertised.

A good dealer should offer to take the car back and give the buyer a deal on another vehicle on their lot.

Exactly. A reputable dealer would have disclosed this to the buyer beforehand. If they really missed it, they would be embarrassed and working extra hard to correct the mistake.
