Is it required to complete all repairs covered in the inspection report? Such as minor dents on garage door was recommended to replace the garage door on the inspection report. That would be just waste of money, so it wasn't done. Mortgage company is coming for an inspection. Will that be a problem?

Who did the inspection? Was it an adjuster for the insurance company or was this a home inspection for the purchase of a home?

If an insurance company paid to have repairs performed and the money was instead pocketed then that is possible fraud against the insurance carrier. As for the mortgage company it would depend wholly on the purpose of their inspection. It is most likely they will have a copy of the insurance adjusters report and the pay out information. It is possible they are coming to check that all work was performed to ensure their investment is being properly maintained which would include repairing damage that the insurance company paid to have repaired.

I had a lot of repair work a few years ago, and I could be remembering this wrong, but I thought my insurance adjusted told me that if I didn't use the money they gave me to replace an item and pocketed it, that they wouldn't cover repairs or replacement on that item in a future claim. Like if my garage door had hail damage but was still usable, I could pocket the money but if another storm blew the door in, they wouldn't pay anything towards replacing it. I didn't want to risk that, so I had everything replaced/repaired.

That makes total sense. My garage door is perfectly fine, I couldn't see the dent unless the contractor circle it for me. It's like throwing a small stone at the door and then calling it dysfunctional. Seriously? Our estimator was pretty generous I guess.

That's what I recall from a hail storm a few years ago. Had to get the roof replaced. There were some dings in our fencing and we didn't bother with that. We were warned that if we took the insurance money for that, the fencing dings, (we did not) but didn't fix the fence then future claims would be denied. The dings were so very minor, hubby took care of them.
