Looking for recommendations on daycare for newborn. We are expecting so we want to be able to look at a bunch of them and choose the best for our child. Thanks

Have you checked out the state's website for childcare licensing? It will list all of the daycares by zip code, including centers and licensed at home daycares. The site lists any violations, including the severity and what the violation was for.

When we were looking, I called around to a few to get an idea of pricing. Some are quite a bit more than others, so that helped weed some out. We had 3, I think, on our final list and I visited 2. Go with your gut. You'll know which one is the one for you when you do the tours.

We chose a center (The Blue Elephant) that my oldest has been at for 3 years that we love. My newest (a week old) will be going there in January as well. I know in this area there are a handful of Primrose and Kids r Kids franchises that you can look at depending on where you are located.

Just some unsolicited advice, but I recommend finding one that is super close to your house and your pediatrician. You don't want to have to backtrack to visit the pedi or to go home. Some kids hate the car and will scream the entire way. You don't want a 20 minute drive with a screaming kid. Our daycare is across the street from our pedi, and about 2 miles from our house. It makes it convenient if either spouse has to pick the kids up.

This is good practical advice. Your home, daycare, pediatrician and at least one parent's job should be within 3 mile radius if you can help it, even if you have to take a pay cut not effecting necessities or if house is smaller or less fancier than your dreams. It makes life easier for whole family.

Frisco has all big daycare franchises but if you ask on your HOA's page, you can get reviews about smaller operations near you.
