As far as stores, we've got everything I could ask for and more right here.
Friendly's still exists?! I loved that place growing up - used to always get a Friendly's icecream pie for my birthday.

We have already had Del Taco's here and El Pollo Loco's. Del Taco was all over the place back in the late 70's - mid 80's then they all closed up for some reason. El Pollo Loco came in early to mid 80's. I don't know of any around anymore. There was one in Garland that was not part of El Pollo Loco but along the same lines over by Baylor Garland Hosp. El Pollo Loco had a location in Carrollton on Josey in the Josey Ranch area.

There is something that looks like an El Pollo Loco but isn't on Spring Valley near 75, I wonder if it's the same owners as the one you're talking about, Momof2.

There's a place on Coit Rd in Plano called Mr. Shabu Shabu.

I don't know what that means, but I always thought the name was funny when I drove by!

Hmm, We have also had See's Candy before I believe. I've heard other Cali transplants say these same places like Del Taco that they miss here in Texas and I'm always like.................. we HAVE had those already.

But you don't have them anymore! Which is what matters to me
Seriously, I LOVE Texas... the only part I'm having a hard time with are not having those food places I mentioned,LOL

Now I understand when people move to another region of the US and talk about missing certain foods. I never "got it" until I became a transplant from somewhere else

See's Candy has a store in the Galleria during the holidays. At the mall, in another state where we use to live, there was a See's Candy kiosk during the holidays.
