Hello, I am looking for any feedback anyone has on Gehan homes or the Castle Point subdivision in the Garland/Rowlett area. We are strongly considering building there.

That community should have been closed out a year or so ago. Gehan originally had it this land. Sold it to MI Homes. MI didnt sell it well, sold half back to Gehan. It has never put out the sales it was expected to. Didnt help it was across from a land fill, and a lot of other builders nearby on bigger lots and no land fill.. I would go with MI over Gehan. You will have to upgrade alot since their standard features are poor at Gehan. Plus they have a lot of turnover not only in sales but construction. My 2 cents.

I think it's a great community. Unless you look on a map, you wouldn't even know that there's a landfill 1/4 mile away. The community is about 2 years old and almost in closeout. Gehan has had the same builders in this community for a long time, at least 18 months. There is one more builder around the area Cal Atlantic but they start about 50K higher than Castle Point. Ivory is the current salesguy there, I'm sure you'll get a good deal with the current promo.
