I believe HEB just announced that store will be closed and replaced with a fancier one.

Facts. I wonder why Dallasites undermine HEB so much just because they don't have one? We all know the minute one opens there, they'll jump on to them with pride just like they did with Buc-Ee's.

I mean, I do agree that the HEB fandom is exaggerated. I'm 100% there. But anyone in the right mind would prefer for HEB to dominate their city's grocers as opposed to Walmart and Kroger.

HEB is here sort of......we shop at the Central Market at Midway & Northwest Highway. That store had, "to the car delivery" figured out before Covid.

Not the same. I love Central Market (mostly for their coffee bean selection), but you can't compare a gourmet grocer to a quality discount grocer.

I always said, Houston was missing 7-Eleven, Dallas was missing HEB. We finally got our 7-Eleven situation fixed, it's time to get HEB rolling into Dallas.

I just took a look at that location on Google Maps.

The poster wasn't wrong about how dumpy that H-E-B location seems to be, but it's definitely the exception to the rule.

It is.

All of the tech workers who are migrating to Austin but have been priced out of the city and trendy suburbs like Round Rock and Pflugerville are now settling in Georgetown, since it's still *relatively* affordable.

Not sure what you have out there but how doe HEB compare with Wegmans or Publix? Or are there other higher-end grocers there?

We had Krogers here until a couple years ago when they all became Harris Teeters or closed. The Krogers I went to were not high end but were clean and reasonable.

H-E-B is definitely Texas' equivalent to Publix and Wegman's.
