From what I've gathered from OP's post, they are an affluent and educated family, working in Dallas, looking to buy a nice and big $1.5-2.5 million home near good public or private schools.

It's not about what CD members think, it's about which schools are objectively good. If schools aren't doing well in academics and extracurricular then liking them is a subjective opinion, not something that other may share as well.

Far West Plano is the nearest nice yet affordable area with access to excellent public and private schools near Dallas. You can slice it any way you like. It also puts you closer to Collin county employers, in case one of the spouse ends up there, which is a likely scenario with employers flocking to CoCo.

You may want to read the original post in this thread first. The OP laid out some specific questions and the forum members answered them. Just because there were answers other than "live in West Plano", doesn't mean the answers were wrong.

What's funny of course is that you actually ended up recommending the same area I recommended to the OP (University Park), but you have tied yourself in knots finding reasons to recommend West Plano and contradict your original recommendations.

The OP doesn't need an "affordable" area. If they want the best public schools close to Dallas, they can afford to live in HPISD. This is particularly in light of the OP's original statement regarding their feeling of the suburbs feeling stale and their expressed dislike for that.

The OP may love West Plano and it is certainly a reasonable recommendation, but the OP also asked expressed some preferences and inquiries regarding other areas. Nobody is doing the OP a disservice by providing answers to those questions. I wish you would stop hijacking every thread with your Plano boosterism.

I still think University Park is best for them but it's good to have a solid back up option.
