Mine are cold, heat & humidity together, and ragweed. So if I'm not dealing with one, I'm dealing with another and I wheeze most of the year.
Do you take any medication to help you deal with your allergies or do you just suck it up and live with it?

I suck it up and live with it. Asthma medicine is expensive and the constant appointments and monitoring are a pain.

I'm fortunate in that my asthma improved greatly after I started taking my health much more seriously. I don't need inhaled steroids and I don't even have any rescue inhalers left. I rarely need them and when I do have need for one, I have to lie down until I stop wheezing. Fortunately that isn't very often.

If someone's asthma is really bad they might want to re-think living here. Dallas's climate and its flora aren't friendly to asthmatics or allergy sufferers.

Don't do it. The air pollution here is HORRIBLE. There have been more than a few times where the smog has turned the sky yellow.

According to my allergist it often takes longer than a week for you to know how your allergies will respond to a new area. The area is also well known for not being allergy friendly.

In that case, couldn't you get tested for the allergens most common down here?

I have mild allergies, but for some reason my allergies were out of control January - March in DFW. I think it was the mountain cedar.
