That's very normal for Texas summers. It really doesn't cool down much after dark.

Ha, OP should've moved here when I did...2011. That was a REAL "welcome to Texas" summer!

That was the summer we left. The day the movers were packing up the truck I believe it was 107. Totally reinforced my decision to leave North Texas.

I actually arrived January 2011...about three days before the Great Ice Storm. So it was ALL the extremes that first year!

Re: not cooling down at night, the first April evening where it was something like 93 at 11PM,"wtf is happening" was exactly my response, too.

We have a September baby, so my wife complained often about being pregnant in the summer - but it was Up North. Summer of 2011 here...I can't even begin to imagine.

And to the OP - if you think THIS summer was bad, well, brace yourself for subsequent years.

I actually timed but pregnancies so I wouldn't be very far into them during summer. The thought of being very pregnant during a Texas summer sounds awful to me.

Very mild summer, my husband actually went for walks with me. He can't stand the heat. Will our winter be colder than normal?

Native of Dallas here but raised in Phoenix. Summers here haven't been too bad, usually around 110 or 115. I can tolerate the humidity or the little of it, but the dryness that is here not really. Can't wait to be back home.
