Fancy neighborhoods decorate more, have more houses with kids on average, and occasionally give out full bars instead of minis

Just go to Highland Park if all you want to do is get candy from rich people who live in a different neighborhood. They're probably wise to that particular scam though.

Eh, I wouldn't call it a "scam." We live in a neighborhood where 90% of our Trick-or-Treaters come from outside our neighborhood. I don't mind it at all. I figure that most live in neighborhoods where it's either not safe to be out walking around at night or where their own neighbors can't afford to buy $50 of candy to hand out. In all the years we've been here, the kids - and their parents - have never been anything but sweet and respectful.

Destination Trick or Treating bums me out. First Halloween in our house I bought tons of full sizes and then almost no one showed up, found out that parents take their kids to the nicer neighborhood nearby.

We get non-neighborhood kids too. It only bothers me when they pound on the door at 9pm when I've shut the lights off.

(Yup, that happens. Every year.)

Same here. We get lots of non-neighborhood kids. I’m happy to see all of them, regardless of where they live.
But when the light is off, it’s off. That means I already gave out all of the 2 huge bags of candy!
