Well I can only speek for myself. I had no intentions of turning this into a "Dallas vs Houston" thread. It was to generally address the false implications of Dallas having a miserable unacceptable black community.....

Other than that thread from years ago, I'm not sure that this was even a thing that many people said (because it's not true).

Old thread: //www.city-data.com/forum/texas...americans.html

Nothing bad has been said about Houston black community from DFW black posters. DFW black posters have always been civil and respectful to the Houston black community. The same respect has not been shown the other way around. Houston black posters have notoriously tried to paint DFW black community as being inferior to their black community. If any black poster starts a thread expressing their interest in moving to DFW they are quick to chime in and tell how much better their black community is compared to DFW in a very degrading way. I can attest that countless threads have been highjacked over the years in the Dallas forums by Houston black posters. It’s been like that since I’ve been posting on City-data. You really can’t make this stuff up.

I don't think the intentions were Dallas vs Houston, but you do still see people telling people "just save yourself the trouble and skip Dallas and go to Houston". That is certainly an unnecessary rhetoric based on outdated stereotypes about Dallas.

Not saying that's necessarily coming from people from Houston.

Exactly.....Thats why I posted the video. Just to start the beginning process of breaking a stereotype that has been misleading people about Dallas.

I've seen similar videos relating to blacks in Austin. Go figure.

Some of you Dallas posters are so insecure. This thread is actually quite amusing.

Only with you guys, can you post a random video (that should be in the Dallas forum btw) about a random night in Uptown, boost it, then get mad at Houston posters about an entirely different thread - even though no one said anything negative about Dallas in this thread in the first place. That's gold.

But I get it - y'all have to post stuff like this to convince yourselves that the DFW black community is the same as that of Houston or Atlanta. Carry on I suppose!

Nobody got mad at nobody....An old thread was referred to in stating a reason why this thread was relevant.

Nobody is insecure....we are just eager to correct a stale stereotype that Houstonians love to repeat thats all.
