Hello fellow City Data friends ~

Recently, my bother-in-law started considering private schools for his oldest daughter for the 2018 school year (far too late for most admissions!) and was asking what I knew about St. Monica. Based on a previous post I made, multiple users indicated St. Monica was both a diverse and affordable option for private school. As a result, I wanted to ask you all a few questions to try and help him out...

1) How challenging is it to get into St. Monica for Kindergarten or 1st grade if you are not a parishioner (but are a practicing Christian)?

2) It appears the deadline for them is in a few weeks (Feb. 1st) - would it be worth trying to rush an application?

3) Does St. Monica have the typical expansion years (like other Dallas privates)? If so, does anyone know what their expansion years are?

Thanks so much for you help! I appreciate your wealth of knowledge on this!

The Catholic lower schools give preference (and tuition breaks) to parishioners. Beyond that I've not heard that they have a preference for any other type of applicant, all other things being equal. It's possible that if you belong to another church within the broader Diocese that doesn't have space, they'd try to help you out at another location but not positive. And that would still be specific to being Catholic, not just Christian.
