2. Spring (March through early May)
3. Summer (Mid May through approximately July 4thish)
4. Hell (July and August)
5. Summer part II (September through mid-October)
6. Autumn (last couple weeks of October and November)

From a former North Carolinian. You will absolutely need a jacket, and occasionally a winter coat and gloves all of the winter gear. The coldest spells will probably not coincide with snowfall. But it could.

Severe storms can happen in any season but especially spring and hail storms are a problem.

Spring and early summer are Mint! and the quick autumn as well.

Excellent summary. Wish we could replace "Summer part II" with more Autumn, and I'd be ecstatic here.

It's a bit obsessive, but I can understand having some concerns about fitting in to a new and different culture.

That being said I think I got this thread confused with the other one about preppy/fratty clothing wear.

LOL no you won't, not unless you are spending a long period of time outside. Growing up I used to wear flip flops, gym shorts and a T-Shirt in 20 degree weather to go out and feed the animals/ do basic chores. 20 degrees is cold, but not that cold.

Heck, I stripped down to a Tshirt and tied my coat around my waist snow shoeing over over Christmas and it was about 17 degrees outside.
