Or know someone in the area who is?
Lipscomb is a GREAT choice. It's a darling little school with and award winning Principal. The teachers are mature and the school has been rated EXEMPLARY for the last 3 years.
This school has done better than most Dallas Elementaries without much support. Imagine how well it will do in the coming years. Many of the homeowners(Junius Heights HD, Swiss Avenue HD, and Munger Place HD) are banding together and we're sending our Kinders there!
We've started an ECPTA to support the school, parents in Old East Dallas, and get to know neighborhood families. We've also focussed efforts on making this into the neighborhood school it once was. Right now it is k-3, but with grass roots efforts, it looks like it will once again be a k-5.
Here's our group:
OEDECPTA : Old East Dallas Early Childhood PTA

Lipscomb is still Exemplary and is now K-5. Lipscomb feeds into Long and then Woodrow.
