I hope this comes to fruition...Located west of the Dallas North Tollway, north of Panther Creek Pkwy/south of 380.

“The PGA of America plans to move its headquarters from Palm Beach Gardens,Florida to Frisco,Texas according to a Golf.com report. An announcement is supposed to come within weeks, according to the report. The proposed site, located outside of Dallas, would also be the home to two 18-hole semi-public courses and a nine-hole short course. The 18s are to be designed by Gil Hanse and Beau Welling, with the Hanse course anticipated to host events like the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup.That championship venue is set to be opened by 2020.”

Done deal! Fantastic for DFW. I live in Prosper, close to where this will be. As an avid golfer, this news is very exciting!

Well it's not quite a done deal. Frisco city leaders have soiled the sheets several times in the past.

“A PGA official with knowledge of the Frisco proposal estimates the deal is worth $30 million-$40 million for the PGA of America. Another said it might be closer to $50 million, “if everything pans out” in terms of the land and infrastructure development that are believed to comprise the bulk of the offer from Frisco. It’s also worth noting that like Florida, Texas has no state income tax and generally viewed as being business-friendly.”

I doubt any other contender would bother offering >$50 million in incentives. I think Frisco should get this deal. It’s an exciting news for Texas, as long as Frisco Council has done due research and analysis of effects on residential life.

This is nice but having McKesson move from S.F. to Irving, Tx is a MUCH BIGGER relocation than the PGA. McKesson is one of the TEN largest Fortune 500 companies with over $200 billion in annual revenues. Now Irving is home to Exxon, Kimberly Clark, Commercial Metals and McKesson. Those are some HUGE companies!

This.
Where are all the big corporate relos to Frisco? yeah the PGA and Cowboys is cute, but look at Plano with Toyota and Chase, or Richardson with State Farm and now Irving with McKesson. Those are the type of relocations that Frisco has failed to attract despite the fact that they have all this available land on the tollway, plust they like to make a big deal about not being in DART so they have that extra tax money to spend on attracting companies. Its been several years with frankly nothing to write home about.

Both of the entities choosing DFW are feathers in our cap. Neither deal, assuming the PGA deal is approved by Frisco Tuesday are big deals for DFW. Time to celebrate all that is going on positively for the metro plex and learn from our losses to make this a better place to live. Either of these appear to be huge job adds fo the area but both are nice ads to our resume as a metro so to speak.

Nevermind, I answered my own question.....

A move to Frisco would bring the PGA's new headquarters to a tract of land along Panther Creek in Northwest Frisco. The land, owned by the estate of deceased businessman Burt Fields, is located west of the Dallas North Tollway, and just north Panther Creek Parkway and south of U.S. Highway 380.

The development, according to Golf.com, will potentially include two semi-public 18-hole golf courses, with one serving as a potential venue for PGAs and Ryder Cups, as well as a nine-hole short course and teaching academy. The courses would not be completed until 2020.
