Hi I was wondering if someone can send me a good mortgage broker who is Dallas based, and a good agent for Southlake, Colleyville. I would prefer a recommendation from homeowners.

I'm curious, why do you care about using a local broker? Online mortgage companies will get you much better rates. The local guys talk about how much better of a service you'll get from them ... I think that's b.s.. I used Consumer Direct Mortgage and locked in 30 yrs at 3.75% when the local dfw people were quoting 4.25%+ for their "better service" (which would have cost $30k+ more for the loan). CDM did an awesome job, closed perfectly smoothly with 0 issue.

I would never use an on line Mortgage lender. You need someone local.

I have some good referrals in Southlake but you are looking for a homeowner to recommend so I won't.

What's your reason/s for not using an online mortgage lender?

check out upnest.com they bid for your service. We have used them 4 times now and about ready to use them again to sell and buy. we average about 1.5% rebate when buying and about 2% discount when selling. Works out nicely... I can refer two great agents in the area though if you wish. Dm me if youd like

I dont think this forum should boycott referrals. I agree that we should not post them and advertise. But simple referrals should be acceptable

What's the need for a local broker? I didn't feel the need for one when I bought my first house with no previous home buying experience and it was easy and cheaper.

Simple referrals can be made by DM. Otherwise we get 30 people touting their friend, neighbor, agent, etc..

No idea why someone would say not to use an online vendor. Have used online vendor twice in the last few years and went smoothly without any issues. The rates / fees you can't beat with an online reputable vendor.

Makes me question agents that say "You need someone local" - this is typical realtor talk that want's to make sure you close the deal so they can get their commission.

Shop around and assess yourself the difference between a local broker and online lender.
