How many of you guys water your foundation regularly especially during Summer?
I heard installing a drip irrigation system would be ideal around the perimeter of the house? Any tips?

I do so indirectly by watering my lawn appropriately.......enough water, sprinkler heads fixed, aimed and adjusted to volume several times a year.

I've never had a drip system but it strikes me as a good idea.

^ What he said. I actually did buy a drip system... But found it to be unnecessary if you are maintaining your regular sprinkler system. At least, for the systems I've had, multi zone, etc.

I don't know anybody tries this methods yet.

One concern is drip irrigation only water in spots. So you will have dry/wet/ dry/wet... areas. Would that be bad for the foundation?

My irrigation system got a separate zone for soaker hose around the foundation. The foundation gets watered regularly through that zone/soaker hose.

This. Many people make the mistake of setting their system and leaving it all year. it should be adjusted depending on the amount of rain or lack of at least 4-6 times a year.

Completely unnecessary. It’s a myth that builders in Dallas have spread to cover their shoddy construction and low strength concrete. The rest of the country laughs at it.
PS. A civil engineer here, so I know what I’m talking about.

You may well be a civil engineer but you are full of beans on this one. If you'd like to go academic an acquaintance is a Ph.D civil engineer who wrote his dissertation about foundation issues around here and it's in the clear.....I'll forward it to you if you'd like.

Playing your game for a second in what universe does it make sense that most DFW builders are in cahoots but the same didn't/hasn't happen elsewhere?

I knew it. Here comes your charts. Lol.
It does happen elsewhere too. In Dallas heat, the concrete placement crew likes to place very wet concrete, therefore messing up the water cement ratio. Watering foundation is still not necessary and doesn’t do anything. Dallas soil is expansive clay just like many other places in the US, including Las Vegas where I worked most of my career. That’s what the post tensioned slabs are for. Moisture conditionining the pad before concrete placement also helps, which remains absent in Dallas.

You really want to know who is “full of beams”. Let’s compare our stats. You joined a year later than me and posted thousands and thousands of your nonsense, meaningless posts. Mostly drivel. Rep to post ratio of 0.70. Compare that to my posts, who believe in quality over quantity. Just a few hundred posts and Rep to post ratio of almost 2.
