Were the kids in fresh water out of a hose or treated water like in a pool or similar - something circulated?

I'm pretty sure some was from a fire truck. The rest would have been water available at the park. I'm pretty sure it is a sulfurous smell. I'm just impressed at how it lingers!

That makes more sense. If Irving tap water smelled horribly there’d be an outcry.
While the smell could be sulfer related.....I’d bet the root cause is bacteria. I’d wash/shower the kids and wash the clothes in colorsafe bleach pronto.

Agreed. Maybe the fire truck source was from a pond or something similar. I believe Irving's water comes from Dallas Water Utilities, just like Coppell (probably the same plant, most likely Elm Fork WTP), so we would probably see issues broader than just Irving if there were problems at that plant.
Having said that, there are certainly times in DFW when the algae from the surface water sources can result in changes in taste/smell of the water. Usually in the summer too. I haven't noticed anything yet this year though.
