Trying to install a new cook-top from Bosch. The user manual states use Scotch Aluminum foil heat reflective tape (425 or 427) on the counter top edges before laying down the cook-top for protection. But it's not locally available in Home depot or Lowes. HD carries Nashua 324A with max temp 325F compared to 300F for the Bosch recommended type - 425. I am assuming it will be ok to use?.

According to Bosch cust support rep, the tape is intended for Dorian countertops but the tech advised to use it anyways just to be safe.

Any tips from anyone who had similar install experience will be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming you mean Corian countertops... But you don't say what you have.

If you have granite, you do not need the tape.

Corian is made up of 33% acrylic polymers to bind the 67% mineral stock together. So it's possible the acrylic portion could yellow, harden, or crack if subjected to too much heat, but I think that would be unlikely.
