It is to do with the assessment of audit risk. The risk that the accounts may be materially misstated. Risk assurance tends to focus on IT risks (accounting systems) and control risks (the controls that management operate to ensure that the accounting is correct).

It is not about assessing whether a bad person is at your door.
However it is a profession that tends to be risk adverse.

This discussion is also somewhat tongue in cheek.

Yes indeed. But a law abiding PwC employee is usually going to assume that the cops are on their side.

The point is that such a person is not James Bond.

Are you saying that you know some police who are trained to "shoot to wound?"

If not, then I'm not wrong. All you did was repeat what I said.
Not really.

But Plano is not a subdivision of Dallas. Despite the fact that it's only thirty minutes from some bad areas of Dallas, the fact is that bad people generally don't go far. Usually bad people won't even cross a major highway.

People move to Plano to get away from that stuff...and what, to find that the police consider them just as dangerous as the people they moved to Plano to avoid? Heck, the cops end up being a bigger danger to them than anybody else in town.

When a police officer responds to a call at a house in Plano, he's not responding to a call at a house in southern Mesquite.

And he ought to know that.

Moreover, Plano is still small enough that Plano police officers ought to know their city and their people.

So, no, the Plano police chief is wrong in putting the fear of "war on police" into the heads of his officers.
Yes, if he said it before the incident in Dallas it was overkill. Got a source?

Seriously?

You must know some really badazz risk assurance associates at Price-Waterhouse-Coopers .
Yep. Highly unlikely.

At the very least, this police officer needs to be charged with manslaughter, fired, etc. I don't care how confused or tired she was or how cute and blonde she is. Sheeze!
