That is some crazy bidness. I live an hour or so east of Dallas and our temps for Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be around 50 with wind and rain. Brrrrr!

It is pouring buckets of rain here right now, and it's very dark outside at 4 pm, which is unusual. We've already gotten nearly 3 inches of rain and it's still coming down in sheets and we have a lot more rain coming in our forecast over the next week. Wow.

The weather here is so interesting. You just never know from week to week what you're going to get. Yes, summer is hot consistently but the rest of the time is all over the place! This autumn weather is out of this world. I'm basking in wearing a sweater out here on the patio sipping some wine AND my hubby as I type has made a hearty stew for us in the crock pot!!!! Looks like Halloween is going to be proper crisp and chilly this year. These temps will be heavenly especially once the sun is out again.

I hope it stays cool till and through Halloween!

No wine for me, our house just nearly flooded and I've been scraping mud off the back patio. I had a scary 30 minutes or so when the water started lapping at my back door! But it's never come into the house and I've seen more rain than this before. We did get over 5 inches in less than an hour though so that was pretty alarming.

Wow!! Yes, there are creeks and low land areas around our neighborhood that are very flooded. After you scrape that mud, break open the wine!!

Just returned from a long walk and it felt great. No mosquitos! 2.5" of rain today in my area (Plano). Maybe we break 70" of total rain this year? Currently for the year we are at 52". We had a high of 110 on July 21st and a low of 12 degrees on January 17th according to my neighbors very precise and expensive weather station. I think it's going to be a good fall although wet.

Hmmm, update:

Here is a photo of my neighborhood, just around the corner from my house, earlier today. We got 5.5 inches of rain in under an hour.

After Sunday, the forecast for the rest of the month is significantly cooler and wetter than averages for this time of year.

The electric co. lady said our bill looked about right for the size of the house and said something about how Texas ACs are only designed to only go 20 degrees below whatever the outside temp is so we were overworking out units. I don't know why she said "Texas ACs"...I thought that was all ACs.

Windows open today and it feels amazing!!
Poppycock. Modern a/cs can get 30 degree differentials. Or else you could only get it to 86 when it's 106. I listen to mine and make sure it has the chance to cycle off. No point in cracking down on the guests now, the high temps are over. 68 is very easy to get to now.

Yeah, I thought it was a bunch of bs too especially the part about these specially designed "TX" ac's. Guests are gone now but next year I'll have to lay down the law...upwards of $500 a month is ridiculous.
