That is still a slog from the High Five area.

When I started the thread I should have said we are hoping to target UP TO $700K. Will go over if I find what I really like in the right area

IMO with that budget if you are interested in public schools look at RISD in Dallas or RISD in Richardson or PISD in Dallas. many of these spots are near your target intersection.

Good luck.

As far as commute times, I personally don't think the difference from Plano or Allen to McKinney makes that big of a difference. Coming south from McKinney in the AM commute, 75 flows pretty smoothly until you get to McDermott in Allen. So the majority of the congested part of 75 that makes a commute to your husband's work less than ideal will be felt for the most part in whichever one of these three cities you land. And as mentioned, if you go further afield from 75, you will find it harder to get to 75.

The historic part of McKinney and its great square is what separates it from the Suburban sameness of the other north Dallas burbs. Reason I chose it and I am happy with the choice. Might not be that important to you, but a world of difference in it being a less cookie cutter place to live.

That’s cool man. Did you buy a historic house? If so, did you restore it yourself or seller did it?

Not in the budget. The ex got all the house wealth lol. I drive by them all the time and dream of the ones I would like to buy and restore.
