I'm planning to move to Dallas Texas. I was wondering which area has more public transportation available? Richardson/ Irving? Where I can find more Bangladeshi Community between these communities?

Welcome, Sanjana18!

As an Irving boy I'm happy to say that the Bangladeshi community here is strong. What is *not* strong is public transportation. We have reliable buses, but if you are accustomed to very dense cities with strong subways/trains, then Irving will still be a bit of a shock.

Have you checked out BANT yet? They have a lot of resources for moving into the area.

There's a ton of Bangladeshis in Irving as happycrow said, as well as in Allen/Plano/Southeast Frisco. They usually don't care much for public transportation, as much as they care for school quality.

Lots of Bangladeshis in the DFW area... specifically in Irving and Richardson where you are looking. I myself lived in Richardson for more than 10 years and would consider it a great place for a newcomer. We currently live in Plano, with one of the best school districts.

Lookup DART, our light rail system, and it runs all the way through Richardson and upto Plano. There are new apartments built/ being built close to the train stations. Bus service is there, but nothing like the northern/ eastern metros. You may have to wait an hour plus in between buses. This plus the super spread out nature of everything and frequent extreme weather kinda forces you to have a car.

Thanks for the INFO. I actually do have a car. but I'll be there by myself for the first 2 months and won't have a car then. The two months is a bit of a concern that's why.
