I am just glad the decisions are coming via email. Waiting 3 days for the post (USPS) for the magnet decision was excruciating.

Perhaps they’ll share in the communication, but do you know if everyone is offered a waitlist option (at Hockaday specifically)? Or is that a limited pool as well?

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I believe most of the highly competitive schools say that their wait pool is for applicants who met all of the qualifications for acceptance, but for whom there was not a spot because some other, more qualified applicant was taken first. I don't know if this applies to Hockaday, but it is what we were told when my son was placed in the wait pool at GH.

Good luck to everyone waiting on news in this round!

This is my understanding as well. It allows the school to keep rebalancing the class, ie if a 5th grade boy musician’s family gets transferred this summer, Greenhill (or wherever) would definitely be reevaluating the waitlist candidates for a boy and possibly one who’s musical as well.

Have any of the schools started sending notices/making calls yet? I know those legacy folks must be just as worried as the rest of us! Best of luck!

Good Luck to all today!! I hope there is lots of positive news posted here today!!

We are from out of state where the private school admissions scene is not so competitive so this thread has been quite the eye opener!!! Now our high school district magnet/charter admissions causes quite the stress!!

My son applied only to Jesuit, we don’t find out until 7:00 tonight!

Good Luck, Gigi! Bless your heart having to wait until 7! We've only applied to St. Mark's for 1st and I'm trying to remain calm until 4. Know it's all in God's hands, so it will be great, regardless...yet, the suspense is daunting!

Thank you!! As we are on the east coast, it’ll actually be 8:00 our time! Thinking of all of you as it gets closer to 4...
