I live in the Far North Dallas area (ZIP is 75252), and I would like to board my cat from 12/19/18 till 12/31/18. So far, I've been quoted a boarding fee of $33.50/night. Does anyone know of a cheaper place in the Far North Dallas/Plano/Richardson area?

PS: having somebody come to my place to take care of the cat is not an option.

Thanks.

Try Cat Connection, they are great and not too far from you in zip 75244.

It's $24.00/night but give a discount after 9 days.

I have a neighbor or two just drop by our house. My cat would FREAK if I boarded him. I get them nice gifts for helping and of course make myself available to help with their pets. And I have a HAPPY cat when I come home.

You get what you pay for in this business. $19/day sounds like your cat will be caged in the same room as other animals such as a dog. You don't want your cat bringing those bad memories back to your home.

They are caged and let out into a common area from time to time. Two horrible situations for a cat.

I pay $22 a day for a pet sitter to visit my cat. He would be extremely stressed if boarded.

Same here. The ONE time I boarded our cats was when we were having major plumbing work done, and I was afraid the cats would get out of the house. Huge mistake. My cats were traumatized by being taken out of the house and left in a strange place. I will never do that to them again.

The quote you were given seems fair for a decent boarding facility. Anything below 20 dollars seems extremely cheap to me. You can always request a tour ahead of time to see the facility and make sure you are comfortable with the environment. Too bad a cat sitter coming to your house is not an option. Boarding is so stressful on cats.
