I am a single mother of a 6 yr old little girl, who is considering moving to Dallas. I was wondering if someone could tell me the best place in the Dallas area for her and I. I'm looking for a place that is reasonably priced and in a decent area.

Also, looking for a newspaper or online resource for jobs. Any help is welcomed!!

There are a ton of threads on here that ask the same question. Read through some of them and if you have more specific questions everyone on here is usually great in helping answer questions.

Your going to have to be a bit more specific to get some responses. What's your price range for housing. What type of job are you interested in. Are you looking for a house or some apartments. Could you be a little more specific in your needs.

I'm looking to get into a logistics company (import/export) or inside sales. I also plan weddings on the side. Looking to start off in an apartment, unless I can get a good deal on a house, my budget is currently $1000/month....not sure what the cost of living difference from Baltimore to Dallas is.

THANKS FOR THE INFO!

my friend's rent in Dallas just off McKinney is right at 1200/month for a two bedroom apt. In the burbs (Denton), a two bedroom/2 bath in a decent, but not elaborate apt complex, will run you 800/month.

A decent 2 bedroom apartment is going to cost you about $800 a month on up. It really depends on part of town and the age of the apartments.

I remember in the mid 90s living in The Village off of Southwestern Blvd. Don't know if it's still a good area, but it used to be. Several complexes in that one area. All price ranges, but only a couple of them used to allow pets (if that's an issue). Of course, we're talking over 10 years ago, so I have no idea how much it has changed. I also remember some nice apartments along 75 north of that area.

The village is still nice and there are plenty of young people who live there. Pretty much anything south of Northwest hwy is going to be now. It turns really bad once you go north of Northwest hwy.

Village is great for young singles, but the DISD schools in that area STINK!
