Can anyone give me any good info on living in Copper Canyon? We might be moving from CA and are looking at a house there online. My daughter is an equestrian so having a little space for a horse is how I found this. I know it's a small town but is it growing? How far is shopping and bigger towns? How bad is the commute into the city?

I don't know. The address just says Copper Canyon, Texas. I know it's north of Dallas but that's it.

It's to the east of Lantana between Highland Village. They have a building restriction of like 1+ acre or more lots and it's pretty much custom large homes. No large mass production there.

Shopping is pretty good with all that development at 407 and 2499 in North Flower Mound. It should develop into a Southlake type Community with only high end homes but not quite the school district.

Here is her thread from last Dec. It appears North part of Downtown Dallas. Christi even gave her good recommendations for Equestrian.

My parents live up there, though their address is officially Argyle. Ditto what others said--lots of homes on large lots. Lots of shopping within 10-15 min--all the stuff at 2499/407, the new Kroger on 407, and lots more just up Copper Canyon Rd. Schools are zoned to Denton ISD. Really, its a very tiny "town" that blends into Argyle, Bartonville, and Lantana. Very pretty, though. To call it a town is a stretch, honestly.

Be warned...when they say "40 mph Speed Limit Enforced" on Copper Canyon Rd...they mean it. About half my family has gotten tickets up there...even for going 45.

That's a hell of a commute, though. My dad does it, but I'm convinced he just likes driving.

I've had 1 ticket in about 30 years. It was last year and you'd never guess where it was.

The back road going into Lantana in CC. Doing 46 in a 40. CC needs the revenue and that County Sheriff gives no slack.

Pleading deferred adjudication cost me about $285.
