The city's sanitation page is silent on the issue.

My neighbor lady had 4 toilets replaced and we aren't sure if the bulk trash people will pick the old ones up or not.

On the link above you can put in an item and see whether it should be set out for bulk trash or disposed of by another method.

It shows that toilets should go to landfill or transfer station.

Of course, I am not sure if that matches the reality (it seems like I have seen people set them out before).

If the porcelain's good and they are old high flow units, put them at the curb and they will quickly be picked up by scavengers.

I’ve never done that many at one time, but I did schedule a paid bulk pickup for a bunch of this type of construction debris when I was in Plano.

OK per 311 it's a firm no, bulk trash service will not pick up toilets.

They must be taken to a transfer station or the landfill.

turf3 brings up a good point. These are indeed old, large, large tanked, very heavy toilets. I set them out earlier - we'll see if scavengers take them. If not I'll take them to the x-fer station for her.

Wow, that's a shame. On bulk pickup days they used to. I remember because I wouldn't let the spouse put it out before dark. So embarrassing, lol.

Bet if I'd packed one in a heavy garbage bag they'd've hauled it away.

FWIIW - scavengers nabbed all three within hours.
