Disclaimer - not looking for advice as it's been resolved but thought I'd share

I was going to DFW the other day from east Frisco which is just a 121 straight shot. I've done this trip 100x before. That day the Uber driver says it's more cost efficient to get on/off at every exit to avoid tolls. Besides wasting time, I told him that's not how it works. Anyways I didn't want to argue, I explained my reasoning and he disagreed and did his thing. Anyways when the ride finished the ride was 2.5x the regular rate, it was close to $150.

He's an idiot.

I know some Uber driver killed the passenger after quarrel, and managed to flee country before a warrant was issued. That happen in Chicago.

So I'm curious, how did you get it resolved?

Considering how and what Uber pays it's drivers, I'm not surprised unscrupulous people are resorting to such shameless tactics. I disagree with such tactics strongly, but I'm not surprised.

Uber refunded most of it without question. Final price ended up being about 1.4x above average instead of 2.5x so much better. Not going argue for the rest.

I was thinking that but not really. The driver is still paying the tolls and getting reimbursed for it via Uber (just like normal). The only person really losing on this is me but more so Uber

You get charged every time you merge on/off the tollway. Lol he thought he had found a loop hole. He's not considering all that wear and tear and gas mileage.
