If you have a budget between $250-350K and your are looking for good schools, good commute and nice size homes with mature trees, check out central Plano. It’s probably one of the best pocket in Collin County which isn’t overpriced yet.

One of my son’s friend from Plano Senior High moved back from east coast to be close to his aging parents and bought n renovated a small ranch there. All done tastefully within budget and a lovely old neighborhood with many young families taking over homes of empty nesters and renovating them. It’s definitely worth consideration.

Nice marketing on a public forum - you keep telling the same on each and every post (relevant or irrelevant, whether OPs job is in Plano or in Dallas or anywhere in DFW) and it's not enough for marketing? started a new thread?? Relax - everyone knows about Plano areas - east, west, central, enough going on already and don't push yourself too much.

LOL!! Unpaid intern. TC80, honestly it’s worth consideration for young families who can’t shed $500k but want to be where jobs are.

Considering the median home price in Plano is about $335k, it’s no time like you’re sharing some “hidden secret” here. The vast majority of Plano residents don’t live in housing that cost anywhere close to the prices in your West Plano bubble.

No it’s not a new revelation but they have done such a good job with their ranch, both inside and outside. It was sort of HGTV transformation and really impressed me and showed potential of their neighborhood.

Sorry it's no secret.

In Central Plano west of I-75, from $280 to $350,000 there are only 113 homes on the market.

There are 81 under contract.

And 357 have closed in the last 6 months. 221 in the last 90 days.
75 homes have sold in the last 30 days with an average 16 days on market.

That's only about a 4 -6 week supply which means there is a shortage of homes in Central Plano.

Somebody has discovered Plano.

I know they have no problem selling homes there. It’s not an infomercial (as suggested by our paranoid friend). Just putting idea out there for young couples trying to find a small sphere for work, home and babies without breaking the bank. If they look outside the box, it’s possible and as you mentioned by looking at the market, others are already doing it.
