Would anyone like to expound on ISEE vs. SSAT for a private boarding school application for out of state? My son announced he would like to apply to a certain school for his sophomore year that would begin in fall 2020. The school accepts either for the application. He took the ISEE last year and go 7/7/8/8 so not bad but not great. He's usually pretty good at standardized tests...he took the SAT in 8th grade and got a 1350, which I thought was pretty good but I guess doesn't correlate to either of these private school tests. Anyway, does anyone have any insight into what a private East Coast school would prefer? Or should we go with ISEE because he already has experience with that?

I don't have insight into specific tests but I would suggest looking at and applying to more than one school. You might try looking at some of the schools in the Southeast in addition to the Northeast.
