It is subjective. I have a good size home that is mortgage free, we own a 2020 Porsche Taycan and 2022 Audi Etron SUV that are paid off and make a good amount of money as well. But we are still forced to work every day just like the rest of the masses. Rich means you never have to worry about working ever again. You can do whatever the hell you want. That is my definition of rich. Everyone has different definitions though. It's not about how much you make it is about how much money you already have and how long it can last you.

Big law senior associate may want to leave NYC, take a pay cut, and become counsel for a mid-sized company in Dallas.
