Hi all.
I’ll be relocating to Dallas for work temporarily. 6-8 month assignment. I’ll be working downtown and looking for the best place to live. Requirements safe area, great nightlife(single here) and pet friendly(95# black lab). Commute isn’t an issue. I’ve heard good things about uptown but would like everyone’s opinion and learn more about other areas.
Thanks in advance

Uptown is what you want. North of Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

If you want a "grittier" area, also consider Deep Ellum or Bishop Arts District (though honestly you could just Uber to these places from Uptown fairly easily).

If you want a more residential/less urban area (but still some nightlife), consider Lower Greenville/M Streets.

The biggest challenge will be finding a place that accepts a short-term lease. M

The M streets/University Crossing area near Mockingbird Station is also a good fit. Walkable to Greenville Ave night life. Glencoe Park is popular for dogs and that area all connects to the Katy Trail. The Mockingbird Dart station is walkable to many of the local apartments and also has a decent sized parking lot if you want to take the rail to work. There's also bikes and scooters for very cheap using your phone app. zip code 75206
