Are there any freecycling groups in DFW other than craigslist?

McKinney has 2 freecycling groups. Both of our groups are through Yahoo, might start by doing a search of the Yahoo groups. I believe there are several in the DFW area.

Use the search on yahoo groups and you'll find the yahoo freecycle groups.

I am new to FC (a few months and a few donations) and the idea sounds great. The reality seems flakey:

* Most of the traffic appears to be serial leeches asking for stuff (barely above the point of functional literacy). "i need phone please att must have camera i really need it pls help thankyou need it fast so hury thanks". Same people, over and over. Maybe this shouldn't bother me. Maybe I have a character flaw in this area.

* 50% of the items that I offered and were claimed were not picked up by the recipient after many attempts to make it very easy on them with maps, photographs, etc.

* 100% of the items I claimed were not able to be picked up by me due to assorted flakiness on the part of the donor

Maybe I need to give it more time, or lower my expectations considerably.

Yeah I've seen the same types of things/people on craigslist. Except you can flag people on there and shut them down. Thanks for your help I'll search yahoo.
