Dallas is roughly twice as violent as Harris but unlike Dallas a large portion of the desirable suburbs especially in the NW are well within Harris County so straight up comparing a county to a city doesn't really make sense. I think Houston had like 265-280 murders for 2019 , even then the rate is only around 11-12 per 100,000.
Harris Co. - 4.653 million

Dallas Co. - 2.618 million

She was quoting Dallas city limits numbers not county. Dallas city got 210, county probably got like 40-50 more. I explained it in my post that comparing a city and county doesn't make sense.

I was right sizing your claim that Harris CO. has 4x the population of Dallas Co. that's all.

Ok I get it. Missed the county v. city angle.

Last week, the Dallas PD released its 2020 action plan to reduce violent crime. The article below talks about it. While I appreciate they are making an effort, I believe they are still ignoring a big component of the increase in crime, which is a short-staffed police force. I wish they had included in their plan that one of their goals is to increase recruiting numbers.

It's all good. The poster responded with Harris County numbers because the city always takes forever to release it's data. My point is that while Houston did better than Dallas and Harris County almost certainly did better than Dallas County this year for murder rates. I don't like that shes taking Houston's good name and rubbing it in the sand by putting a bunch of passive aggressive anti-Dallas threads in the Dallas forum.

It's one thing to notice Dallas's sky high rate and starting a thread on it. It's another to be passive-aggressively attacking the city, often for things Houston itself doesn't perform well at, yet theirs multiple threads for Dallas by a certain poster. As a Houstonian it annoys (not really, this is an internet forum/ i'm not one of those people that gets enraged by internet posts just couldn't find a better word) me because I stood by the fact that Houston had the most sensible homers, and now I don't think I can say that anymore.

I understand totally why your in attack mode, I would to if someone was coming to the Houston forum posting a load of accurate but unnecessary B.S.
