Hi,

My wife, myself and our 6 month old are moving in a few months (maybe less) from MD, a DC suburb to either Frisco, allen, or Plano

We are so so excited! We just sold our townhouse and are going to stay with my in laws for a while and then move on out.

Anyone here done the same move?

-LOK

Also, we are planning to rent at first, maybe a 3 or 6 month lease on any decent apartment until we get situated and find where we want to buy.

San,

I sent you an e-mail. We can keep in touch and share info about the move if you'd like.

We just recently relocated from Plano to NoVa. Ask me if you have any questions regarding the area. Schools in Plano are great. You'll love it other than the Texas weather which is actually not too bad. And you can buy a big house there. Depending on where you go to work, you may also see some traffics but not as bad as NoVa.

My one bad experience in NoVa was a doozy. I was returning from Columbia, MD headed to Richmond where I was spending the night with family. I left Columbia at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon in a light drizzle. It was after 9pm when I finally arrived. 150 mile / 6 hours = 25mph average.

Default Alexandria

I spent some time in Alexandria. Welcome to Texas...and lower costs of living!

Thats good to hear about the traffic, I am working in Vienna right now and living in Rockville (about 30miles or less apart) and it takes me just under 2 hours to get home

For several months I was commuting 70 miles from Milford to Plano, my average commute time between 75 and 90 minutes. I was fortunate enough to be going against the majority of the traffic.
