Hello Everyone,

We are moving to Dallas from NJ in a few months. We have a 10 year old kid. Been looking at different towns and it's still very confusing. We were targeting Flower Mound, Frisco and Coppell. We are looking for a good school district and new construction homes. Work wise, my spouse would travel twice a month to NJ. I would love to hear your recommendations.

In NJ, we are used to living closer to amenities but school district is not good.

Either city should work for you. Frisco has more amenities, shopping, entertainment etc. Individual schools may vary but overall both districts are at same level.

Frisco is the furthest from the airport (assuming DFW) of all of those three. If you do choose Frisco, I would recommend staying as close to 121 or DNT as possible for faster access to the airport. My husband travels 2-3 times a month but he tends to fly out really, really early so he doesn't usually have issues with traffic. But driving home can take a while if he lands in the afternoon.

Not necessarily
Frisco now has a huge Indian population. But there are substantial numbers of Indians in Flower Mound, Coppell, Valley Ranch and Las Colinas. There is a movie theater in Valley Ranch that shows Bollywood movies. And seeing that frequent airport use is a requirement, I would pick those four before Frisco.

Of course frisco. The ranking of frisco school is better than fm, it has lots of amenities as mentioned before. It is close to Plano, which has more things to do than frisco. fM is a bedroom community, it is incrediblely boring, only a few restaurants and shoppings, driving to good after school will take 40 minutes. In addition, with the same $, you can get a nicer, newer, upsacle, bigger house than FM in a nicer and newer neighborhood.

Not sure about the school claim. FM schools are highly regarded, with a much longer track record of excellence compared to Frisco schools, which were frankly barely above average for a long time before finally improving a lot over the last few years.
Yes FM is a typical bedroom suburb, but it’s close to valley ranch and Southlake as far as things to do. I think you are correct on Frisco being newer than FM, but a negative of that is the constant rezoning for schools that Frisco families are subjected to that isn’t an issue in FM

Colleyville has more new construction than Grapevine, but the price range tends to be pretty high. OP hasn’t told us what their target range is. I agree that for good schools and convenience to the airport, you can’t beat that area.
