Anyone else hear of any movement at the other schools, specifically St. Mark's?

Unless you make a big donation for a new wing or computer lab or something.
Maybe it's true. My daughter is still waitlisted at Hockaday for 1st grade, even she got perfect CATS and AABL Score.

First grade only has about 5 openings, maybe even less. Siblings would get the first pick. After that, I'm sure all of the applicants have a perfect or near-perfect score.

I've seen too many siblings rejected at GH and Hockaday over the last 4 years to buy the sibling thing being an automatic leg up anymore.

Yes, siblings do not get an automatic leg up unless the family is well connected to the school.

Just by way of update, our kids both got in from the waitlist where my wife teaches. Our situation is somewhat unique so I don’t think there are any broader lessons to glean from our experience but just figured it was worth mentioning. Best of luck to those who are still waiting to hear back. I think it’s going to be a long summer.

Default Congratulations

Congratulations, that's great news! Even given your unique situation, it still seems encouraging to those of us waiting that spots opened up.

I know a girl who declined Hockaday 9th admission in March. I wonder if they are not going to fill that spot? Maybe they were expecting some not to accept.
