First of all, I've been reading this forum for quite a while now. We recently made the trip to Dallas from Seattle and made an offer on a house in Frisco while we were down there. We close on May 2nd, and we couldn't be more excited

I've been on the Frisco ISD website, and see that they have an after school program at the elementary school my 8 year old daughter will be attending. Does anyone know if before school care is offered as well? And if not, suggestions of private daycares would be wonderful.

Thank you!

Most schools won't allow you to drop off until 7:30. My son's school starts at 8:00 and we can take him as early as 7:30 with teacher supervision in the cafeteria until 7:55 if we so elect this route. (LISD)

At my school it is the same except we start school at 7:50 instead of 8:00. Kids allowed in at 7:30 with supervision. (CFBISD)

I think most districts are very similar. The after school programs generally are very reasonable in price but many parents find it difficult in the morning due to work schedules and travel time for their work etc.

Many local daycares provide this service. I had my son going to daycare for $90 a week... transportation to and from school to daycare and afterschool care. Make sure you visit some of the daycares.

Caution: I'd observe the afterschool programs they provide as the one we were at was not managed well in my opinion. I visited prior to school opening but not while school was in session. I'd stick with privately owned daycares vs. chains. I'm lucky as my mom lives near and she helps now with the transportation to and from school and care after school

I was wondering about how early they could be dropped off. I think if she could go there for breakfast at 7:30 I would have enough time to get to work.

Thanks for the info!

I think most schools provide breakfast these days. So you should be okay.

Our elementary school only provides breakfast to those kids on free lunch (<10%).

Default frisco isd

My kids go to a frisco isd elementary school and there is supervision (and they can purchase breakfast) at 7:30 although they open the doors around 7:15 and there are kids there that early.

Default before school care in Frisco help

Good question. And what about the single Mom's that have to be AT work by 6:30 am. I am a single mom that MAY be moving to Frisco this summer for a better paying job, but I need to know where I can take my son and KNOW he will get to Elm school on time and safely.

then you need to so as an earlier poster said and find a day care provider that allows you to drop off early and takes your child to school---
that is a pretty early drop off--since you would add on the drive time--
when would you need to leave your child--I don't think any day care is going to be open before 6 am...you might be able to find an individual that would let you do it...

Default thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. I though about that and looked on line. Most day cares I found on line don't even open til 6:30. If CAN find one that opens at 6, that would help. If you do know of one that actaully opens at 6, let me know what it is.
