I would never go to Shelley Luther's business. In fact I will probably boycott most local businesses around here because I 'm not going to give them my money. They complained too long and too loud about a shutdown that was meant to save lives. If they think I will risk my health or my family's health to go inside their place of business, they can shove it where the sun don't shine.

I also find it laughable that Shelley complained she can't feed her kids, but she has a very healthy sized body. Somebody in her household had food, that's for sure.

I won't reopen my photography studio.

As I said earlier, I'm in my late 60s and my wife has additional complications. The way I work--the particular kind of portrait I make--requires fairly close quarters, either mine or theirs. And of course, my clients can't be masked while their pictures are being taken.

I can't afford to bring covid-19 into my house. I'd end up watching my wife die, and I'd likely go soon after. Worse, she'd die in a hospital bed alone and suffering, then I'd die knowing I was responsible.

I could only reopen (before a vaccine is available) if I had effective masks to hand to my clients for them to wear until time to release the shutter, and also plenty of hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes. I can't operate amidst contagion without effective protection.

They took BAL (Bronch Lavage) samples and out of 15 samples 14 of them (93%) detected Covid-19. That is pretty good. Here is the rest

BAL- 15 samples, 14 positive test (93%)
Sputum (saliva and mucus coughed up) - 104 samples, 75 positive tests (72%)
Nasal Swab - 8 samples, 5 positive tests (63%)
Brush biopsy - 13 samples, 6 positive test (46%)
Pharyngeal swab - 398 samples, 126 positive tests (32%)
Feces - 153 samples, 44 positive tests (29%)
Blood - 307 samples, 3 positive tests (1%)
Urine - 72 samples, 0 positive tests (0%)
It's a small sample size, but 63% for the nasal swab is terrible. Do test samples get shipped outside of the hospital? Would the heat in a delivery truck be enough to destroy the sample, so that it gives a false negative?

Don't forget, people over 65 and those with medical conditions are still urged to stay inside.

No this was done in a hospital for a study by one of the leading epidemiologists in the world. It wasn’t for covid but they were very thorough with the same people doing the tests. These are controlled studies. It was a study about sterility in hospitals,

Interesting, but not surprising at all. No state meets the government's suggested criteria to begin reopening, so I imagine the business that are reopening now are more concerned about their pocketbook than the public welfare. With that mindset, it's not surprising that they are not following the mandatory guidelines in place to reopen, or just paying them lip service.

This is part of a consistent and serious pattern of downplaying from the government, on multiple levels. When you have the Governor not enforcing penalties against people who blatantly and intentionally violate court orders and a President who suggests we will have "packed churches" on Easter and tweets support for shut down protesters, it sends a clear signal that the recommendations aren't really that necessary and this whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

There is a small outbreak at the Tyson Foods meat processing plant in Sherman. It's about 30 miles North on US 75 from McKinney.

It's a small outbreak with less than 10 cases and no deaths. If they have the right controls in place, the other workers should be safe.
