Great news right. I'm surprised at the local gun stores. Academy near by people are walking away with floor models due to lack of supply. Ammo is all sold out and limited per customer if any left.

Also all schools closed until (at least) April 3.

Regarding weather, it's awful out. Next week is supposed to be mid 80s and sunny.

2. one of the most competitive attitudes (I can work harder than you can...I love my job so much I am showing up very sick....I am the boss and if you don't want to work sick like I am, there is someone who will)
3. large travel industry
4. large undocumented population who is ultra-scared in the current political climate to go to a dr
5. state which is large- tends to leave ultimate decision to counties and cities
6. It is rainy season- viruses love rain (though this one is new and uncertain, just a guess)

My prediction: tipping point.
By Monday, we will be #2 per capita. By a week from Monday we will be #1

Pray that I am wrong though
All true. I would like to point out that layoffs will increase the uninsured population as well.

But our American society doesn't want "socialized medicine" so we'll see the disease keep spreading, even more so than it currently is in European countries. Many Texans simply don't have the money to go see a doctor.

I work for a major insurance carrier. Many of our self-funded clients are already laying off employees and may not even be able to pay their stop loss/reinsurance premiums. We might see a bunch of self funded employer sponsored plans go out of business if the pandemic goes on for a long period of time. Scary times.

Is anyone else concerned about the Governor's idea to set up tent hospitals in Texas during tornado season?

Definite less traffic today on Preston near the Stonebriar mall in Frisco. The parking lot had a small fraction of the normal load of cars. Even route 121 was light.

It is interesting about these grocery stores. I went into Costco and my supermarket last week with a sense of dread after seeing pictures empty shelves and those long lines just to get into Costco. With the exception of absolutely no toilet paper, Costco was fine. No more people than normal. I didn't bother looking for hand sanitizer. The grocery store was fine last week too. They were running low but still had toilet paper and paper towels. All the other shelves seem well stocked.

A much different story this week at the grocery store. Much more crowded. No paper products at all. Almost all of the rice was gone. All of the pasta was gone except for the store brand. Few people wanted any that . The meat, frozen food, butter, and the refrigerated Pillsbury products were running very low to almost gone. I am glad I ignored the "don't hoard" message and got what I needed last week to last me at least a month. Slim pickings now
